His legacy
Gene
Gene and I had a very special relationship. Maybe it was because I was only 15 years old when I had him. All mothers love their children, but there was a unique bond between us that everyone noticed. Yes, he was a Momma's boy. It was as if we could communicate telepathicaly completing each other thoughts and anticipating each others words. Gene's sense of humor was even feircer than mine.In my adoring eyes and heart, Gene could do no wrong. I know he adored me as much as I worshipped him. In his view I was bigger than life. I was his hero. He told me that many times. Somebody once asked him that question a few weeks before his death and I heard him say, "The doctor that preformed my heart surgery and my Mom's." He was so proud of me for raising him and his sisters alone. I still have some anger with God. I feel betrayed by the God whom I had always turned for wisdom and serenity. I do thank Him thou for choosing me to be Gene's mother. And for the 34 years that he let me have him.
My Son

Gene weighed almost 9 pounds when he was born. He was my only son and the oldest of my 3 children. He was born in 1972, his sister Leslie was born in 1975 and his youngest sister Michele was born in 1977. All four of us were very close to each other. When his  Dad and I divorced Gene became our protecter. Taking care of me and his sisters.
